School Dinners
Our delicious school dinners are cooked for us each day in our kitchens by our chef using fresh ingredients, many from local suppliers. We have used Cleverchefs as our catering company since September 2022 and have been delighted at the quality of the meals provided for our children.
Meals are ordered by parents in advance on the School Gateway system. Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 do not need to pay for their meal as it is provided free of charge under the government Universal Free School Meal scheme.
There is an option for a main hot meal which is usually a meat-based option and a vegetarian option. Pupils also have the opportunity to choose a Jacket Potato or a packed lunch provided by the chef. There is a three-week rotation with the meals and the menus can be viewed on the website, or are available to view when a parent logs in to the Gateway system to order.
Year 3 to 6 need to pay for their meals and this costs £2.50 a day. Meals are paid for on the Gateway. If your child is likely to have meals regularly we ask that you pay a minimum of £25 which would cover 10 meals. You can pay more than this amount and the money will stay on your Gateway account until it is used up.
If parents are on certain benefits they can apply for Free School Meals via the Devon County Council Citizen Portal. please see the documents further below for more information.
